Chimaobi Sam Atu Foundation Releases 2024/2025 Scholarship Results

The results of the 2024/2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) scholarship exam organized by the CHIMAOBI SAM ATU Foundation have been released to the 28 principals of public secondary schools in the Enugu North and South Federal Constituency.

Speaking on the intention of the Foundation to support public education in Enugu State, the President of the Foundation, Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu, reiterated his commitment to quality public education.

He stated that the Foundation is committed to ensuring that excellence usurps every other consideration, as it will not substitute merit for anything.

“We have carefully marked and released the results of those who participated in the examinations,” he said. “We have about 28 public schools that participated, and we ensured that those who performed exceptionally were selected to be part of the beneficiaries, as we cannot sacrifice merit on the altar of sentiments. The scholarship programme was birthed out of my desire to enhance education and promote quality learning.”

In his address, the Chairman of the Education Board of the Foundation, who is also the Head, Department of Mass Communication Esut , Dr. Chidiebere Ezinwa, said the result is a true reflection of the performance of all the one thousand, six hundred, and thirteen (1,613) SS3 students that participated in the exam two weeks ago.

He went further to outline the performance index of all the students who participated in the examination.

Dr. Ezinwa also commended the efforts of Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu in promoting education and the overall welfare of the constituents, adding that the positive impact of his initiatives will manifest in no distant time.

The University Don also urged aspiring beneficiaries to cultivate a reading culture to enable them to participate and benefit from the next edition of the scholarship programme.

According to him, the results indicate that, “1,613 students participated in the examination. Of the 1,613 students, 28 candidates, representing 1.7 percent, made A1. Fifty (50) students, representing 3.1 percent, had B2, while 61 students, or 3.7 percent, had B3. One hundred and two (102) students scored C4, representing 6.3 percent, while 141 students, or 8.7 percent, had C5. Again, two hundred and forty-six (246) students, or 15.3 percent, had C6, whereas 230 students, representing 14.3 percent, had D7. Unfortunately, 251 candidates scored E8, which represents 15.6 percent of all the candidates, while 504 students had F9, representing 31.2 percent. These results also show that six schools topped the medal table with A1, while 15 schools produced candidates who had B2 and B3.”

“I am happy that the Enugu North and South Federal Constituency is blessed with a leader who is not just democratic but also progressive. This also calls for more attention towards our reading culture. Those who want to be part of the beneficiaries in our next edition must start their preparations now.”

Commenting on the outcome of the exam, the Communication Officer of the Foundation, Dr. Ekwe Okwudiri, explained that students are advised to visit their principals’ offices on Thursday, 5th December 2024, to see the names of candidates selected for the scholarship or visit the website www.chimaobiatufoundation.org.

Dr. Ekwe added that “the selection of candidates was based on two criteria:

National merit, which covers 48.3 percent of the total number of students selected for the award.

Schools’ quota merit, which covers 51.7 percent of the total number of students selected for the award.”

He also informed newsmen that the award ceremony will hold on Tuesday, 10th of December, at the PPSMB Hall, Independence Layout, Enugu.
