In response to recent reports suggesting that Pastor Tobi Adegboyega is facing deportation from the United Kingdom, his lawyer has issued a firm denial, calling the claims “false and sensationalized.”
The lawyer, who has represented Adegboyega both personally and in matters concerning his ministry, clarified that deportation laws in the UK apply to individuals with criminal convictions. He emphasized that Adegboyega has lived in the UK for over 20 years without any criminal record.
“Deportation is for criminals, and Tobi Adegboyega is not one,” the statement read. The lawyer also pointed out that while the courts and the Charity Commission had raised issues with SPAC Nation—an organization previously associated with Adegboyega—no personal wrongdoing was attributed to him.
Describing the news as “ignorant,” the lawyer criticized the media for what he termed as “sensationalism” and lamented the tendency of some individuals to celebrate the downfall of others. “Society has a big problem, as we cannot handle people who are different and want them to go down,” he stated, adding that Adegboyega has made significant contributions to the British community despite facing numerous challenges.
