A series of bomb blasts have rocked communities in the Dansadau District of Maru Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
Eyewitnesses reported that at least two explosive devices, believed to have been planted by bandits, detonated at separate locations within the district.
The explosions occurred along the road between Dansadau and Malamawa, as well as on Malele Road.
One resident, Nuhu Babangida, shared how passengers aboard a Canter truck narrowly escaped death when the vehicle, loaded with grains, triggered one of the bombs.
The truck was en route to the Dansadau weekly market on Friday when it hit the device. Fortunately, all passengers survived the incident. Babangida also confirmed that the bombs on Malamawa and Malele roads exploded simultaneously.
This marks the third explosion in the Dansadau Emirate in just five days, following similar incidents on Sunday and Wednesday. On Wednesday, at least 12 people were reportedly killed when an explosion destroyed a bridge at Tashar Sahabi.
The victims were traveling in an overloaded Golf car from Maru Local Government Area to Gusau when the blast occurred at approximately 8 a.m.
The state police command has yet to release an official statement regarding the recent attacks.
