Peter Obi Meets Former President Goodluck Jonathan to Discuss National Issues
Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has met with former President Goodluck Jonathan to discuss key national issues.
The meeting took place on Wednesday in Abuja, following Obi’s earlier visits to former military president General Ibrahim Babangida in Minna and Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi to condole him over the loss of his son and mother.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Obi described the meeting with Jonathan as an opportunity to address critical national matters and extend New Year greetings.
“Finally, on returning to Abuja yesterday, I caught up with my dear elder brother and Former President of Nigeria, His Excellency Goodluck Jonathan @GEJonathan, to also wish him a happy new year. I also had the opportunity of discussing germane national issues with him,” Obi wrote.
He praised Jonathan’s “patriotic approach to national issues,” commending his guidance and support.
“President Jonathan’s patriotic approach to national issues remains admirable. I appreciate his kind advice and guidance and wish him and his family a happy and productive year ahead,” Obi added.
The meeting marks the conclusion of Peter Obi’s New Year engagements.
