Senator Dr Tony Nwoye, representing Anambra North Senatorial District, officially kicked off the one day Free Integrated Medical/Surgical Outreach in Partnership with National Primary Healthcare Development Agency in Nsugbe town. Worried about untimely death due to treatable diseases, the Senator launched the free medical outreach for indigenes and residents of Nsugbe to improve their life expectancy.
Speaking with journalists at the event organised at Anaky Event Centre Abata Nsugbe for Urban Areas and Community Primary School Campus 2 (known as Uno Akwukwo Ndida) Nsugbe, Senator Dr Tony Nwoye explained that the free medical intervention was strategic in helping his constituents understand their health status and to offer free treatments for those diagnosed with hidden ailments in the Senatorial District.
The senator who was present at the Launching emphasised that the initiative was aimed at improving the life expectancy of the populace and bringing the dividends of democracy closer to the people, regardless of age and status.
Senator Tony Nwoye donated the sum of N15,000,000.00 cash (Fifteen Million Naira) with each Centre getting Seven Million, Five hundred Thousand as Christmas token to all who came for the treatment and Vulnerable persons at the Medical Outreach centres. He emphasized that each beneficiary should go home with at least the sum of N5000.00 as a token from him to him or her in the spirit of Christmas celebrations.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Ukamaka Nweze appreciated Senator Dr Tony Nwoye for organising the medical outreach, adding that it has helped her discover an underlying health issue, for which he is now receiving treatment.
