Ebonyi born billionaire rewarded his PA AND DRIVER with half a million Naira each

Six first-class graduates from Ugwulangwu, Ohaozara, and Onicha Local Government Areas of Ebonyi State have received N500,000 each from the OMNI Humanitarian Foundation. The awards, presented during the foundation’s 2025 bursary and scholarship awards ceremony, were given in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements.

The ceremony, held in Ugwulangwu, saw the foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Chief Nwigwe Chibueze Uzo, issue cheques worth N500,000 each to the recipients. Beneficiaries included Okoro Priscilla Ogechi (Pharmacy, UNIZIK), Chinyere Emmanuel (Law, Benson Idahosa University), Igwe Samuel (Chemistry, Federal University Otuoke), Okereke Onyekachi (Science Education, Ebonyi State University), John Kelechi Nkalu (Education/Igbo Linguistics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka), and Abel Nnenna Christabel (Law, Ebonyi State University).

Speaking at the event, Chief Uzo commended the recipients for their academic excellence and encouraged other students to emulate their hard work. He emphasized the importance of education as a key to success and reiterated the foundation’s commitment to supporting academic achievements.

The event also featured remarks from Ebonyi State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Professor Amari Omaka (SAN), who praised the initiative as being in line with Governor Francis Nwifuru’s human capital development agenda. He highlighted the state government’s scholarship scheme, which has provided 1,300 graduates with opportunities to pursue Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in Nigeria and abroad.

Professor Omaka lauded the OMNI Humanitarian Foundation for its consistent support of education since 2017, describing it as a valuable complement to the government’s efforts in the education sector.

University lecturer, Professor Philip Unoke, delivered a lecture at the event, urging undergraduates to stay focused on their studies to achieve academic excellence and improve their employability. He commended the foundation’s efforts to promote literacy and called on others to emulate the initiative.

Dr. David Ogbonna, Executive Director of the foundation, described education as the foundation of progress and emphasized the need to empower the next generation through quality education to tackle future challenges and seize emerging opportunities.

The event was attended by parents, relatives, friends of the beneficiaries, and undergraduates from the community, marking another milestone in the foundation’s mission to support academic excellence and promote education in Ebonyi State.
