Following the unresolved differences in the Peoples Democratic Party at the National level, a chieftain of the party and former Deputy Governor, Senator Olayinka Adeyeye has revealed how the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) paid $20, 000 Dollars to Ude Okoye and Debo Olagunagba, National Publicity Secretary and their stooges to destabilize the party.
According to him, the huge financial inducement was perfected by a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Ikenga Ugochinyere through a top member of the ruling APC and an insider in the President Bola Almed Tinubu’s administration.
Senator Adeyeye further revealed that the idea was to create a serious crack in PDP where the party would be divided with a view to rendering it non viable ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said, Hon Debo Olagunagba, as the National Publicity Secretary of PDP got the lion share of $9, 500 Dollars totaling N14,850,000 million in naira, while his partner, Hon Udeh Okoye received $7, 000 Dollars totaling N 11,550,000 million in naira.
The former Deputy Governor further alleged that the remaining $3, 500 Dollars were meant to be used for press conferences and logistics for their accomplices.
He regretted how Hon Debo, a supposed the Chief image maker of PDP and, Hon Okoye; who is impersonating the National Secretary of PDP could stoop too low to accept gratification from the ruling party targeted at destroying a party prominent Yoruba leaders like, Olabode George, Olusegun Obasanjo, Segun Osaba, Gbenga Daniel; Senator Bode Olajumoke; Chief Niyi Akintola; Professor Gabriel Ogunmola; Femi Adefemiwa; Olusegun K. Ahmadu; Alhaji Suleiman Akanbi; Abiola Salami, Dr Olapade Agoro; Professor Jide Owoeye and Ayo Ladigbolu had spent fortunes to stabilize.
He further warned Hon Udeh Okoye, Debo Olagunagba and their sponsors to desist from creating confusing in PDP, while threatening to expose others behind the gang up against PDP ahead of the proposed zonal congresses.
