Operatives of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugwu Ukwu, have intercepted three suspects and recovered a stolen black Lexus 330 SUV during a routine patrol on the morning of January 15, 2025. The vehicle, which had no license plate, was stopped at Kwata Junction, Awka.
The suspects, identified as Ifesinachi Okonkwo (22), Chisom Okafor (20), and Oderah Ebenezer (20), confessed to stealing the vehicle from Isuaniocha Village in Awka North. Police investigations revealed that the trio belongs to a criminal gang responsible for terrorizing residents of Awka and its environs.
The Anambra State Police Command has called on the rightful owner of the vehicle to visit the office of the Police Public Relations Officer in Awka with valid proof of ownership for verification and collection of the car.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, assured residents of the Command’s continued efforts to clamp down on criminal activities in the state.
He reiterated the importance of community cooperation and urged the public to report suspicious activities promptly to law enforcement agencies.
