One Yusuf Muhammad has been stabbed by his neighbour, Hassan Wanzami, for playing football on the street in Kano state.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, has since fallen into coma after the incident which happened in the Dan Rimi area of Fagge LGA of Kano State.

It’s gathered that Wanzami, a local barber, took law into his hands after his admonition to Muhammad and his friends to stop playing football in the neighbourhood was heeded.

Wanzami had alleged the victim and his friends were smearing the frontage of his house and asked the young men to moved to the next street and continue playing there

The boys did as Wanzami told them but he was still not pleased, a friend of the victim said.

He said “But not satisfied with their relocation, Wanzami chased them with a knife and stabbed Muhammad on the neck.”

Muhammad’s mother, Rabi, said, “I was at home around 11am when they brought him (victim) with blood all over his body. I asked him who did that to him and he said it’s Mallam Hassan. I asked him what he did to him and he said nothing. That’s when I took him to the hospital.”

She further said, “Some elders in the area had to intervene because his friends and other concerned people had already started coming out with sticks and knives to attack Mallam Hassan. The police were called and they took him away.”
