The Ìgwè Elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna, has applauded Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State for his recent townhall meeting with the citizens. Chief Aloysius Ogbonna expressed his commendation in a statement sent to newsmen in Enugu on Sunday, emphasizing the need for a type 2 hospital in Ogugu Ntu-egbenese.
He emphasized the significance of periodic engagements with citizens as a hallmark of democracy, a principle Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has effectively demonstrated. The townhall meeting provided a platform for Enugu people, including Ogugu Ntu-egbenese residents, to express themselves and interact with the government.
Among the notable achievements highlighted during the meeting were Governor Mbah’s decision to extend the 35,000 naira wage award for civil servants indefinitely and plans to clear pension backlogs. The Governor also revealed plans to domesticate the National Disability Act and establish a commission for Persons Living with Disabilities, showcasing a commitment to inclusivity and social welfare.
Furthermore, the construction of smart schools in progress across Enugu State, with plans for full operationalization by 2025, reflects Governor Mbah’s dedication to providing quality education equipped with digital resources for Enugu state children.
In the health sector, the ongoing construction of type 2 primary health care centers in every ward, including major markets, with 30 centers already awarded, indicates a focus on improving healthcare access and infrastructure.
“I wish to appreciate our Governor, Barrister Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for once more demonstrating his readiness and capacity to lead.”
