One of the survivors of the boat accident that claimed the lives of four actors, including Junior Pope, has revealed the cause of the unfortunate incident.

The survivor, identified as TC Okafor, while recounting his last minutes before the incident, stated that lack of experience on the part of the person sailing the boat was a major factor that led to the accident.

The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, earlier confirmed the death of Junior Pope on Thursday and stated that three other corpses are yet to be found.

The accident happened when the boat conveying the actors capsized on the Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a movie location.

However, TC, in an Instagram live session on Thursday, April 11, said: “Jnr Pope was making a video and I told everyone to put their phones in their pockets.

“Only two people wore life jackets, the DOP and Director.

“Before I entered the boat, the first thing Junior Pope asked me was ‘What am I doing?’ And I said I was observing the water people.

“I can’t pass without sharing something. I have given them Fanta, so I don’t want anything bad to happen to me, which Junior Pope agreed to.

“While we were going, Junior Pope was making a video, while the boat guy was wearing an earpiece, wanting to show his face in Junior Pope’s video.
