Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has described the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, as an epitome of democracy and quality representation who has contributed immensely to the growth of democracy in Nigeria.
The statement, which was contained in a press release by the governor marking the 53rd birthday of the lawmaker, added that the deputy speaker had shown that the nation could get it right through dedicated leaders like him who put Nigeria first in their priority list.
“I am glad to join your family, friends, well-wishers as well as our countrymen and women to commemorate your 53rd birthday, and to also salute your courage, dedication and commitment to the service of our great nation,” he noted.
Describing the ranking legislator as a patriotic citizen who would continue to be asset to his constituents, the National Assembly, Abia State and Nigeria at large, the governor urged him to not to relent in the patriotic journey to making the country better, safer and conducive for the citizens.
He also commended him for the robust relationship between the legistlative and the executive arms of the government, stressing that the cooperation had begun to yield dividends of democracy for the Nigerian citizens.
“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Enugu State, I wish long life and good health,” the statement concluded.
