Russian President, Vladimir Putin, is ready to end the war with Ukraine.
According to Reuters, Putin is ready to halt the war with a negotiated ceasefire that recognises the current battlefield lines.
“Putin can fight for as long as it takes, but Putin is also ready for a ceasefire – to freeze the war,” a senior Russian source who has worked with Putin and has knowledge of top-level conversations in the Kremlin tells Reuters.
Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said that he had always been very clear that he wanted dialogue to bring the war to an end and that Russia didn’t want an “eternal war.”
The war between Russia and Ukraine started on 24 February 2022 and the war continues till this day, Friday, May 24, 2024.
