Yesterday, the Biafra Remembrance Day was commemorated at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, South Africa. The event was attended by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and other supporters. Onyia Fabian Nnamdi, our correspondent, was on the ground to capture the moments.
IPOB members gathered at the Union Buildings, waving Biafran flags and banners. Some held placards with messages like “Biafra is our home” and “We want freedom”.
According to Onyia, the atmosphere was filled with emotions as participants remembered the lives lost during the Biafran War.
