The people of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State heartily rejoice with the Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, who is also the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Osita Ngwu, on his one-year anniversary in office.
The Igwe-elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr., made this known on Wednesday in a press statement which he sent to newsmen.
He stated that Senator Ngwu’s dedication to the development of Enugu West is evident through his various initiatives. Notably, the recent award for the construction of the Ihe-Ogugu-Ogbaku Link Road Phase 1 in Awgu LGA is an affirmation of his commitment to improving infrastructure and connectivity within the region.
Chief Ogbonna highlighted that Senator Ngwu has recently awarded scholarships worth over eighty-one million naira (#81,000,000) to Enugu West undergraduates, which also includes a PhD student, an act that reflects his dedication to the education and future of the youths of Enugu West Senatorial Zone.
He also noted that Senator Ngwu has secured federal jobs for the youths of Enugu West in prestigious MDAs such as Tetfund, UNTH, and the Energy Commission, an initiative that has provided much-needed employment opportunities and economic stability for the young people of the Senatorial Zone.
Chief Ogbonna urged Senator Ngwu to continue his efforts, particularly in finalizing the construction of the Ihe-Ogugu-Ogbaku Link Road Phase 1, emphasizing its significance for the good people of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom.

On behalf of the people of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Senator Osita Ngwu, the distinguished Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District and the Minority Leader of the Senate, Federal Republic of Nigeria, on his magnificent one year in office.
Senator Ngwu’s dedication to the development of Enugu West is evident through his various initiatives. Notably, the recent award for the construction of the Ihe-Ogugu-Ogbaku Link Road Phase 1 in Awgu LGA is a testament to his commitment to improving infrastructure and connectivity within the region.
In addition, Senator Ngwu has recently awarded scholarships worth over eighty-one million naira (#81,000,000) to Enugu West undergraduates and one PhD student, Mrs. Amaka Dorathy Izueke. This generous act reflects his dedication to the education and future of our youth.
Furthermore, the launch of the Enugu West Kit the School Child Initiative, starting with 20,000 students from both secondary and primary schools, showcases Senator Ngwu’s commitment to enhancing the learning environment. Each student receiving school uniforms, sandals, and socks will undoubtedly boost their morale and academic performance.
Through the auspices of his office, Senator Ngwu has also secured federal jobs for the youths of our Senatorial Zone in prestigious MDAs such as Tetfund, UNTH, and the Energy Commission. This initiative provides much-needed employment opportunities and economic stability for our young people.
Additionally, sponsoring the Geek Development Foundation’s provision of grants to selected Enugu West traders and artisans demonstrates Senator Ngwu’s support for local businesses and entrepreneurship, fostering economic growth in the region.
Senator Osita Ngwu has also facilitated the distribution of free massive fertilizers to genuine farmers in Enugu West to boost food production. This underscores Senator Ngwu’s commitment to agricultural development and food security within the district.
The commissioning of the newly completed life-changing water borehole at Upata Ezema Owa Imezi, Ezeagu LGA, is another remarkable achievement. Access to clean water is vital for the health and well-being of our communities, and this project will greatly benefit the residents.
Furthermore, the award for the provision of solar-powered boreholes in various locations, including Akpato Umulumgbe, Umuavulu Abor, Udi town, Umuaga village Square under Udi LGA, and Upata Village, Ugwuoba, Oji River, highlights Senator Ngwu’s commitment to sustainable development and renewable energy solutions.
Senator Ngwu has also offered fifteen (15) students, (3 from each LGA under Enugu West), a scholarship to study their dream courses at the Federal College of Agriculture Ishiagu (FECAI), Ebonyi State, to the final level. This initiative will empower our youth with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the agricultural sector.
Senator Ngwu has also been proactive in raising bills and motions that are currently under deliberation at the Senate, reflecting his active involvement in legislative processes aimed at improving the lives of his constituents.
