A chilling incident has shaken the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC) as a 200-level Estate Management student was robbed and brutally attacked by armed thieves in front of UBA Bank on campus.
According to eyewitnesses, the student was accosted between 7-8pm and subjected to a terrifying ordeal, leaving him with severe injuries on his face and left hand. The robbers made off with all his belongings, including his belt and shirt, at gunpoint.
The university’s management and Students’ Union Government (SUG) are under pressure to address the growing concern for student safety on campus. Akelicious has called for urgent action to combat the menace, urging students to exercise caution, especially at night.
The victim is currently receiving treatment at the UNEC medical centre.
