Anambra Police Command Identifies Officers in Protest Video, Calls for Calm

The Anambra State Police Command has identified the police team and officer allegedly mentioned in a protest video that has been circulating on social media. The Command has called for calm and urged citizens to utilize the proper channels to report complaints against police officers.

In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Command invited victims to come forward to facilitate the necessary action in the investigation. The statement also encouraged citizens to use the following channels to report misconduct:

  • CP Monitoring Unit of Command CMU
  • Police X-Squad under the State Criminal Investigation Department
  • Police Complaints Bureau (PCB)
  • Complaint Response Unit under the Police Public Relations Department
  • Command Control Room at 07039194332
  • Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) at 08039334002
  • ‘NPF Rescue Me App’ (usable on Android and Apple iOS phones)

The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, urged citizens to remain calm and assured the public of the Command’s commitment to civil and professional conduct. Further details of the investigation will be communicated to the public as necessary.
