Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has accused Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, of hypocrisy and double standards in his criticism of the federal government and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement, Omokri pointed out that during his tenure as governor, Obi refused to conduct local government elections and seized local government funds, contrary to democratic principles.
Omokri also claimed that poverty doubled in Anambra State during Obi’s tenure, and questioned how he could promise to end poverty in Nigeria when he failed to address it in his own state.
The former presidential aide praised Tinubu’s democratic credentials, citing his legacy of conducting local government elections and instituting a case against tyrannical governors like Obi.
