The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Examination Council (NECO), Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, emphasized that the acquisition of 70 vehicles by the council will effectively address logistical hurdles that have historically impeded the smooth conduct of examinations across Nigeria.

Prof. Wushishi reiterated NECO’s dedication to continual improvement and innovation, aiming to elevate its services to the highest standards of integrity and excellence for Nigerian students.

During the commissioning of various projects in Minna, Niger State, Prof. Wushishi highlighted that the fleet of vehicles will ensure NECO exams are conducted seamlessly, without delays or disruptions.

Additionally, the projects unveiled encompass the NECO e-verify App designed for student verification, a newly constructed block of classrooms for the senior secondary section of the NECO Staff School, an equipped NECO Data and Scanning Centre, and a newly established and equipped NECO driver’s pool, among other initiatives.

Prof. Wushishi explained that NECO’s drive to overcome the challenges of inadequate state offices has led to the ongoing construction of three new state offices in Gombe, Katsina, and Kogi states, which are currently at 70 per cent completion.

The NECO registrar, who also disclosed that the council has not received any appropriation for 15 years, noted that the National Assembly had appropriated for the construction of seven additional state offices in Nasarawa, Rivers, Lagos, Sokoto, Taraba, Jigawa and Abia.
