The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has recognized the Igwe-elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr, as one of the leading human capital developers in the state.
The National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi, gave this recognition to the monarch-elect when some regional leaders of the group paid a courtesy call to him at his country home in Ogugu Ntu-egbenese.
Presenting a golden medal of honor to Chief Ogbonna, the National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi, who was represented by the South West Secretary of the group, Prince Gbemisola Obadeyi, stated that Chief Ogbonna has been of immense assistance to humanity and the organization.
He noted that Chief Ogbonna’s support for the fight against cultism has significantly contributed to the successful execution of some of POCACOV’s activities.
CSP Olabisi acknowledged Chief Ogbonna’s generous donation to the organization in July 2024, which, he said, was instrumental in organizing programs for primary and secondary school pupils where numerous educational materials were distributed.
He further praised the South East Zonal Chairman of the group, Chief Dr. Amechi Okolie Sadiq, who is also a son of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom, for his outstanding efforts in the fight against terrorism and other social vices.
“Chief Ogbonna’s fervent dedication to the welfare of his people and his steadfast support for our campaign against cultism are truly remarkable,” CSP Olabisi Okuwobi continued.
“His contributions have not only empowered our youth but have also set a precedent for others to follow. It is leaders like Chief Ogbonna who inspire hope and bring about tangible change in society. His efforts in promoting education and providing necessary resources for the younger generation have created a ripple effect that will be felt for years to come.”
Prince Gbemisola Obadeyi also emphasized the importance of the support received from Chief Ogbonna, saying, “We cannot overstate the significance of Chief Ogbonna’s contributions. His commitment to eradicating cultism and other social vices has been one of the driving forces behind many of our successful initiatives. The donation he made earlier this year allowed us to reach thousands of students, providing them with the tools they need to stay focused on their education and away from negative influences. Chief Ogbonna’s impact is evident in every community he touches, and we are honored to have his support.”
Prince Gbemisola Obadeyi concluded by stating, “Chief Ogbonna’s commitment to our cause is a demonstration of his leadership and vision. His ongoing support will undoubtedly help us achieve our goals and make a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals. We look forward to continuing our partnership and working together to create a safer, more prosperous future for all.”
In response to the recognition, Chief Ogbonna expressed his heartfelt gratitude to POCACOV for the honor, acknowledging the important work the organization is doing. “I am deeply humbled by this recognition from POCACOV. The fight against cultism and other social vices is one that requires collective effort, and I am proud to contribute to this noble cause. I believe that every child deserves a chance to grow up in a safe environment, free from the dangers of cultism and other negative influences. Together, we can build a society where our youth are empowered to pursue their dreams and achieve their full potential.”
Chief Ogbonna also reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote education and social welfare. “Education is the foundation upon which we can build a better future for our communities. I will continue to support programs that provide our youth with the resources they need to succeed. This recognition is not just for me but for everyone who has worked tirelessly to make a difference. We must keep pushing forward, ensuring that no child is left behind.”
