Contesting for President of Nigeria is like demotion to me – Bishop Oyedepo

David-Oyedepo-1

The founder of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, has expressed his belief that running for the presidency would be a step down for him.

According to Bishop Oyedepo, his understanding of the Bible has led him to realize that he is already in a position of authority over the nation, making a presidential ambition unnecessary.

He made this statement during the conclusion of the Shiloh event at the church’s headquarters in Canaan Land, Ota, Ogun State.

Preaching on the spirit of faith, Bishop Oyedepo said, “When I said it will be like demotion if I am called to be Nigeria’s president because I see myself on top of nations from scripture.

“The spirit of faith is action-driven, and its strength is your inner man. The day I saw God’s agenda for my life, I moved.

“If I go to be with God today, you will be surprised that nations will converge here.”

It is worth noting that presidential candidates have historically sought the guidance and support of Bishop Oyedepo during their election campaigns.

In a related development, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, has attributed her appointment to the prayers of Bishop Oyedepo.
