Booth 2 Booth with Bola Tinubu, a support group under the umbrella of the ruling APC has pleaded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to as a matter of urgency appoint a new Minister to oversee the activities of the Humanitarian Ministry.
The group stated this during its distribution of palliatives to APC members in Onitsha South LGA of Anambra State.
The organization commenced distribution of palliatives in the 774 Local Government Areas in Nigeria in 2023.
According to the group, the failed 10 day protest which was slated for August 1 to 10 would not have been conceived if a Minister had been earlier appointed to oversee the affairs of The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
According to the group State Coordinator, Comrade Paschal Candle, the inactivity of the Ministry over the lack of a substantive minister, can be said to be largely responsible for the August protest. That is the missing link for the Intervention programmes of Mr President.
“The various state Governments would have been relieved of the burden of the distribution of intervention items and saved itself from any attendant complications.
”The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation should have been active enough to play its mandatory role.
The group also said that it is committed to distribute palliatives to APC members in the 774 Local Governments in Nigeria Areas as its own contribution to Energize the President’s base and urged other well meaning individuals and organizations to contribute their own quota to the people of Nigeria.
According to Comrade Paschal Candle, we urge well-meaning Nigerians to be their neighbours’ keepers by partnering with the Government to alleviate Poverty in Our Society.
“What we are doing today is not a Federal Government palliative nor that of the APC as a party. But a private initiative of the Booth 2 Booth with Bola Tinubu. This is the third Local Government we are in distributing these food items and cash donations in Anambra State.”
“We embarked on this programme as a way of Helping Mr President in reaching out to Nigerians in various communities to cushion the effect of Fuel subsidy removal and showcase compassion towards members of society through upliftment programmes.
The Highlights of the event is the presentation of 10kg Bag of Rice to each APC Executive and a cash stipends of N5,000.00 to the beneficiaries.
The Chairman of APC in Onitsha South Local Government Area, Chief Ben Eneoli praised the Booth to Booth With Bola Tinubu for their kind gesture. He urged Nigerians to give Mr President all the necessary support. He believed that Mr President will deliver on his promises to Nigerians.
Many of the Party faithfuls thanked the group for this wonderful initiative and prayed to God to continue to guide and protect the President.
