First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu Unveils #OneNigeriaUnityFabric, a Symbol of National Unity

First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu has unveiled the #OneNigeriaUnityFabric, which she says ‘represents our nation’s unity’.

The First lady disclosed that the concept of a national fabric was inspired by her visit to Zimbabwe in 2023, where she saw a similar initiative.

The fabric design competition was organised by the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), chaired by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.

She disclosed this in a post she shared via her X handle Monday, September 16.

The caption reads: “Today, as we unveil the #OneNigeriaUnityFabric, my heart is full of joy.

“This fabric represents our nation’s unity and was inspired by my visit to Zimbabwe in 2023, where I saw a similar initiative.

“I introduced the idea to the Renewed Hope Initiative, and it has become a reality through the creativity of young Nigerians.

“Miss Bamidele Mofiyinfoluwa’s design embodies our diverse culture and will be proudly worn on Independence Day and other national celebrations .

“This project will support local textile industries, create jobs, and celebrate Nigeria’s strength as one united nation.

“Congratulations to all those who participated—your talent is our future!

“God bless Nigeria.”

The fabric was designed by 25-year-old Mofinyinfoluwa Bamidele, a graduate of the University of Ibadan, who went home with a prize of N25m, after emerging winner of the fabric designs competition.
