Nigerians have been advised to continue to support the security Agencies, especially the Nigeria Police Force, towards ensuring safety of lives and property across the country.
The Chairman Federal Capital Territory Branch of the University of Lagos Alumni Association, Aliu Akoshile, gave the admonition while conferring the title of Ambassador on Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun in Abuja on Tuesday.
While he maintained that the global challenges of policing remain enormous, Akoshile called for collaboration among Stakeholders in order to overcome the challenges.
Akoshile condemned the vandalism of property during demonstrations and praised the IGP for his dedicated efforts.
He explained that the decision to honor Egbetokun as a University of Lagos ambassador was based on his distinguished record of service and commitment to public safety and law enforcement.
In his acceptance speech, IGP Kayode Egbetokun expressed deep gratitude for the honor and reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of the university, its students, and all academic institutions nationwide.
