Igbariam- Rep. Member, Hon Peter Anekwe (Macpee), the House of Representatives member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, has donated and installed another 10 solar street lights in Igbariam Anambra East Local Government Area of the state. This is in addition to fifteen Solar Powered Street lights donated to the community making it a total of 25.
The solar street lights were installed in strategic places in communities like Market Square where Elderly people, Women and men do sell their farm produce and Igbariam Farm Settlement.
Hon Peter Anekwe who was represented by one of the Youth Leaders in the community said that the project was a result of his campaign promises to light up the town. “During the campaign in 2023, I promised to make available solar lights for Igbariam town to light it up and make it a beautiful place, especially at night and today, that dream has come to pass.
Hon Peter Anekwe of Labour Party said that all hands must be on deck to ensure that the project was maintained for maximum impact.
“There will be a renewed sense of safety and security in any area that the solar lights are installed, especially the Market road which is the centre of economic activities in the town and Igbariam Farm Settlement.
“This will increase the number of business hours available to the people here and influence positively their struggle against poverty,” Hon Peter Anekwe (Macpee) said.
The Villagers who were elevated with joy thanked Hon Peter Anekwe for the kind gesture. They prayed that God will continue to guide and protect him, that he will continue to bless him.
The Joy of the villagers is well captured in the videos here.
