In a passionate appeal, Nigerian billionaire businessman and socialite, Cubana Chiefpriest, has urged Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Minister of the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, to facilitate the immediate release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Chiefpriest, a prominent figure in the Nigerian business and entertainment circles, emphasized that peace in the Southeast region, which has been disrupted for the past five years, could only be restored if Kanu is allowed to return home.
In a statement made via his social media platforms, Cubana Chiefpriest expressed deep concern over the ongoing insecurity and unrest in Igboland, calling on the Nigerian government to take decisive action for the region’s healing. “There has not been peace in the Southeast for the last five years. We need to rebuild Igboland, and that can only happen if Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is allowed to come back home,” he said.
The businessman, known for his influence and large following, further pointed out that Kanu’s return could bring an end to the prevailing tensions in the region, ultimately fostering an environment conducive to development and peace.
Cubana Chiefpriest’s call for Kanu’s release comes at a time when there have been increasing calls from various groups and individuals, especially in the Southeast, for a political solution to the ongoing agitation for Biafra and the detention of Kanu.
Senator Akpabio and other key political figures are being urged to consider the larger impact that Kanu’s return could have on regional stability and progress. As the region continues to grapple with security challenges, many believe that reconciliation and dialogue could help restore the much-needed peace and unity.
