Honourable Desmond Oluwashola Elliot, representing the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, engaged with protesters at the Assembly complex in Ikeja.

The demonstrators voiced their concerns over the alleged imposition of the Olumegbon family as the Oba of Ajah. Addressing the crowd, Elliot assured them of the Assembly’s commitment to justice and equity, advocating for a transparent resolution that ensures fairness in the selection of the traditional ruler.

“We are here for a better tomorrow and to ensure the voices of our people are heard,” Elliot stated, urging calm while promising that the Assembly would take up the matter.
