The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Olutunji Disu, has hinted on intensified tactical operations within the FCT, saying the initiative has been yielding positive results.
Addressing journalists in Abuja while parading suspects involved in various crimes, Disu apologized to residents for the gridlock caused by the stop-and-search operations conducted across the territory.
Akelicious reports that the CP revealed that the operations have led to the arrest of six one-chance syndicates notorious for robbing unsuspecting victims of their valuables.
CP Disu also disclosed that the command has impounded 296 vehicles during the operation.
He emphasized that a crackdown on tinted commercial vehicles and those with covered or defaced number plates is underway to enhance security in the region.
Among the suspects paraded were individuals accused of impersonating soldiers and defrauding sellers using fake bank alerts.
The commissioner reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling crime and ensuring the safety of residents.
