The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Police Command, CP Nnaghe Itam, has pledged the Command’s unwavering commitment to addressing violent crimes and restoring sanity in the state. Speaking during a security stakeholders’ meeting held in Ihiala Local Government Area on Friday, December 13, 2024, the CP emphasized the importance of collective action in ensuring peace and security.
CP Itam urged residents and indigenes of Ihiala to take ownership of security within their communities and denounce any activities that threaten national peace. He highlighted the need for honest and patriotic participation in security matters, calling for unity in addressing the challenges of insecurity.
The event featured a warm reception, including a cultural performance by a local dance group, and engagements with the Local Government Chairman and other stakeholders. CP Itam also held closed-door meetings with senior council members, members of the Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG), President Generals, and representatives of traditional rulers.
In his address, the CP reiterated the Command’s commitment to crime prevention and the restoration of law and order in Anambra State. He stated that the police would continue to work tirelessly to improve the safety and security of lives and property across the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, who issued a statement on behalf of the Command, assured residents that the police would sustain their efforts to consolidate the gains achieved in combating crime in the state.
The stakeholders’ meeting is part of ongoing efforts by the Anambra State Police Command to strengthen partnerships with local communities and ensure a united front against crime and violence.
