A political debate is heating up in Anambra State as Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe, National Coordinator of the APGA Media Warriors Forum, has dismissed the governorship ambition of Paul Chukwuma, calling it unrealistic and lacking support from the people of the state.
In a strongly worded statement, Obigwe criticized Chukwuma for what he described as “notice-me noise making,” accusing him of using the media to blackmail Governor Charles Soludo by focusing on insecurity issues in the state. He argued that Chukwuma’s tactics will not win him the trust or support of Anambra voters in the upcoming 2025 governorship election.
“The truth that must be forced down the throat of Paul Chukwuma is that there is nothing he can do to get the support of Anambra electorates for his inordinate governorship ambition,” Obigwe said.
He emphasized that Governor Soludo’s efforts to tackle the developmental challenges in Anambra are visible to the people, who have continued to give him overwhelming support. He noted that the governor’s administration is making commendable progress in addressing insecurity and other critical issues in the state.
Obigwe further accused Chukwuma of having unresolved personal issues, referencing an alleged business transaction that ended in a legal dispute. According to him, Chukwuma was taken to court over claims of financial misconduct and has yet to complete the repayment of funds to the aggrieved party.
“He should endeavor to complete the payment before telling Anambra people how prepared he is to solve their problems. He or she whose house is on fire does not go chasing rats,” Obigwe added.
The statement concluded with a call for Anambra voters to continue supporting Governor Soludo’s administration, describing his efforts as yielding positive results.
“Anambra people cannot be deceived with blackmail because they are seeing what Governor Soludo is doing in our state with their own two eyes,” he said, urging citizens to reject divisive tactics and focus on unity and progress.
The political discourse around the 2025 governorship election in Anambra State is expected to intensify as various aspirants prepare to challenge for leadership. However, Obigwe’s comments indicate that support for Chukwuma may face significant hurdles within the state.
