There was pandemonium on Saturday, at Chinda/Ada George road when a man simply identified as Nuhu, reportedly snatched an Ak 47 rifle from one of the conventional security guard attached to the house of ex-governor in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Daily Sun gathered that Nuhu, a popular scavenger suspected to have taken hard drug (Colos) ran with the Ak 47 rifle he snatched from the security personnel to Location Road off Chinda Way, Mile 4, opposite a burrow pit, where he began to shoot indiscriminately.
An eyewitness said the sporadic shooting resulted to the killing of a man, who was also a scavenger, while others scampered for safety.
The source, who gave his name as Julius Wariboko, disclosed that Police officers arrived the scene after Nuhu had reportedly shot a man dead and the suspect (Nuhu) engaged the Police officers in shoot out but was gunned down; while the AK 47 rifle was retrieved by the security operative.
The source revealed that Police officers from Rupakani(Ada George Police Division) and other officers came to retrieve the two corpses.
Further report said that before Nuhu went to snatch the AK 47 rifle from the security guard, he had chased other of ethnic brothers with dagger.
State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police (SP), has confirmed the shooting incident to journalists.
The reportage could not give details on how the said rifle was snatched from the conventional police officer.
