Education Minister Urges Pro-Chancellors to Drive Development in Federal Institutions

Pro Chancellors and Chairmen of Council of Federal Institutions in Nigeria have been advised to put their act together and work towards the rapid development of their respective institutions.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, made the appeal in Abuja during a retreat for Pro Chancellors of Universities, Colleges of Education and Polytechnics, Organized by the Federal Ministry of Education.

Galaxy Television reports that the Minister stated that the gathering was not just a meeting but a crucial platform for shaping the future of tertiary education in Nigeria stressing that, the meeting also aimed not only address the immediate challenges but to vision a future where our institutions lead in academic excellence, innovation, and ensure equitable access to education.

Speaking in the same vein, the Minister of State for Education, Dr Suwaiba Said Ahmed, tasked Participants to ensure that the institutions are not only centers of learning but also hubs of innovation and research that respond to national needs.

Responding on behalf of the participants, the Chairman Committee on Pro Chancellors, Yayale Ahmed, assured the Ministers and others stakeholders of the commitment of the Pro Chancellors to ensure peace and harmonious relationship in their respective institutions noting that, his member would trade their integrity for peanuts.

The retreat is part of the move by the Minister to reposition the Ministry for better performance in line with the Renew Hope Agenda of the Present Administration.
