The Nigeria police,Lagos State Command has debunked claims that Monalisa Osayi, who was arrested for assaulting officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps on December 7, 2024, is a police officer.
Through a press statement made available to news men and signed by the state public relation officer, Benjamin Hundeyin revealed that the claim is on the contrary for the fact that the suspect was arrested and prosecuted by the Ajah Division of the Lagos State Police Command for the assault.
It stated that if she were to be a police officer, internal disciplinary processes would have first been activated, resulting in her suspension or dismissal, before she could be arraigned in court.
The Command, therefore, urges the public to disregard the false claims and assures them that the synergy between the police and the FRSC and, indeed, other sister security agencies is robust and remains of paramount importance in the security architecture of Lagos State.
