Borno South Senator, Ali Ndume, has stated that his disagreements with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies should not be mistaken for criticism of the President or his administration. Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Ndume emphasized his respect for Tinubu, describing him as an elder deserving of deference.
“I am not criticising the President but his policies. I am not a critic of this government; it is our government,” the senator clarified. “I don’t criticise my elders. I am the son of a soldier, and in the barracks, we respect our elders. Tinubu is my elder, and I respect him, but I disagree with him on some areas, hoping to agree.”
Ndume, a vocal lawmaker, has recently expressed concerns about the economic challenges facing Nigerians under Tinubu’s leadership. He also accused individuals in the President’s inner circle of shielding him from the harsh realities and suffering experienced by ordinary citizens.
