The Rivers state police commissioner CP Olugbenga Adepoju has visited the scene of a gruesome attack on the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Rivers State Cassava Project Limited, Mr. Gibson Reuben, an expatriate from the Netherlands.

This is as he ordered all tactical formations to immediately commence manhunt for the killers of the expatriate who lost control of his vehicle at Aleto-Eleme Bridge on Monday January 13th, after unknown gunmen ambushed his vehicle, causing him to lose control and crash into the river.

Rivers police command spokesperson Grace Iringe-koko in a statement, said the Mobile Police personnel accompanying Reuben managed to escape, but he and the Hilux Van were submerged in the water.
Following the incident, a search team was mobilized to the river by the chairman of Eleme local government area Brian Gokpa, while the police swung into action to recover the expatriate’s remain. Meanwhile, the police commissioner has ordered a full-scale investigation into the incident, saying the perpetrators must be fished out and prosecuted.
