The Lagos State Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has successfully managed a serious crash involving a Mark tanker that occurred at 13:59hrs today along the Epe-Ijebu (Outward Epe) route, specifically around Odo Agboju.
The incident was promptly attended to with an impressive response time. The crash involved two male individuals. One male sustained injuries and was immediately transported to the General Hospital, Epe, for medical attention. No fatalities were recorded.
The white Mark tanker involved in the crash caught fire, leading to significant traffic congestion as both inward and outward routes of Epe were blocked.
FRSC fully mobilized its personnel, and reinforcements from Ogun Sector Command were deployed to assist with traffic management and ensure the safety of road users. The Lagos State Fire Service worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire, while officers from LASTMA, Neighborhood Watch, and LASEMA provided critical support.
The fire has subsided, and traffic flow has been restored on a single lane to ease the gridlock. FRSC officers remain on-site to manage the situation and ensure motorists’ safety.
Lagos State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde Hamzat, commends the swift collaboration of all emergency agencies involved in minimizing the impact of the crash. He also advises motorists to exercise caution while using the Epe-Ijebu route and to follow instructions from traffic officials.
