A social and humanitarian group, operating under the aegis of Ebonyi Prestigious Club (EPC) has commiserated with the bereaved family of 11 victims who lost their lives in the tanker fire, which occured last Saturday at Ugwu Onyeama along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Enugu State.
This was contained in a Condolence Message by the President of the Club, Barr. Moses Ugboh, which was signed and made available to journalists by its Publicity Secretary, Mr Edward Nnachi, in Abakaliki, on Wednesday.
Recall that Mr Jeremiah Nwaji of Abofia-Agbaja community in the Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and 10 members of his family were among the victims of the tanker explosion. They were traveling from Onitsha to the village in a private Sienna bus to bury their late father, when the tragic incident took place.
The incident happened around 11am, on Saturday, when a tanker, descending a hilly section of the road, lost control and crashed into other vehicles.
The Condolence Message read, “On behalf of the EPC, I deeply commiserate with the bereaved family and the good people of Ebonyi State over the tragic fire road accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May the souls of the departed rest in peace.”
It added, “Also, the EPC alongside its numerous fans, sympathise with Governor Francis Nwifuru and the good citizens of Ebonyi State in this moment of grief.
“Our prayers are with friends of all the victims of the fuel tanker explosion in Enugu State. May God grant the injured a swift recovery and provide the bereaved families the strength to endure this irreparable loss.”
