Arsenal have submitted a £60 million bid for Aston Villa’s star striker Ollie Watkins, but the offer was swiftly rejected by the club, who are reportedly unhappy with the timing of the bid ahead of their crucial Champions League fixture.
Villa, who see Watkins as a key player in their squad, are determined to keep hold of the England international despite growing interest from top clubs. Arsenal, in search of a prolific striker to bolster their attacking options, made their move, but Villa remain firm in their stance.
Meanwhile, Saudi Pro League giants Al Nassr are aggressively pursuing a deal for another Aston Villa forward, Jhon Durán. The Saudi club has submitted an official proposal exceeding €70 million in their bid to secure the Colombian striker. Negotiations are ongoing, with Al Nassr pushing to finalize the deal.
Additionally, Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface is also on Al Nassr’s radar, but sources suggest that the club will only sign one of the two strikers. Talks are advancing on both fronts, but Durán appears to be their primary target at this stage.
With the January transfer window in full swing, Arsenal may return with an improved offer for Watkins, while Villa must now decide whether to cash in on Durán amid the lucrative offer from Al Nassr. The coming days will be crucial in determining the futures of both players.
