Anambra State has been thrown into mourning as the decomposing body of Hon. Justice Azuka, the House of Assembly member representing Onitsha North Constituency 1, was discovered at the 2nd Niger Bridge.
Hon. Azuka was kidnapped on December 24, 2024, along Ugwunabakpa Road in Onitsha. A combined security team from Abuja has arrested the culprits responsible for his abduction and gruesome murder. The suspects reportedly led security operatives to the location where they dumped his body.
This tragic incident marks the second killing of a sitting Anambra lawmaker in recent times, following the murder of another House of Assembly member, Okey Di Ok from Aguata. The wave of insecurity continues to raise concerns over safety in the state, with reports of kidnappers operating openly, even in central Onitsha.
The death of Hon. Justice Azuka is a huge loss to his family, the people of Onitsha, and Anambra State at large. May his soul rest in peace.
