The family of renowned Nigerian singer Innocent “Tuface” Idibia has officially petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) over his alleged disappearance, raising serious concerns about his safety.
The petition, dated February 7, 2025, was submitted by a law firm representing the Idibia family and addressed to the Director General of the DSS in Ikoyi, Lagos. It details the sudden and uncharacteristic disappearance of the music icon, who was last seen on Monday, February 10, 2025.
According to the petition, Tuface left his home early in the morning for his usual stroll and never returned. By the following day, all attempts by his family and management to reach him proved futile, as his phone remained switched off and his whereabouts remained unknown.
The document describes Tuface as an internationally recognized, award-winning artist, a devoted family man, and a father, making his disappearance highly unusual and deeply alarming.
Citing the distress his disappearance has caused, the petition reads:
“It is worthy of note that the Victim is a legend and holds a celebrity status in the industry, whom countless youths and citizens emulate. His children, relatives, and employees have been thrown into trauma, rendered comatose as a direct consequence of abducting the Victim and rendering him incommunicado.”
The Idibia family is now urging the DSS to launch an urgent investigation into the matter and locate the artist, emphasizing that the situation requires immediate intervention.
