Amid rising tensions and factional disputes within the political circles of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s loyalists, his core political family has officially clarified its stance regarding the forthcoming Anambra gubernatorial election.
Reacting to recent reports, Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe, National Coordinator of the APGA Media Warriors Forum, commended the Ifeanyi Ubah political family for maintaining neutrality and refusing to endorse any candidate at this time. According to Obigwe, their decision reflects political maturity and a strategic approach toward their future engagements.
The move comes after factions of the Ikemba Front, a group linked to Ubah’s political movement, engaged in open conflicts over endorsements. One faction led by Chidi Okoye suspended Arinze Awogu, while the Awogu-led faction retaliated with suspensions of its own, further deepening the divide.
Obigwe emphasized that the actions of Ikemba Front members who endorsed Nicholas Ukachukwu and Paul Chukwuma appear to be driven by self-interest rather than genuine political alignment. He pointed out that since Ubah’s passing, internal rifts have weakened the group’s unity.
Addressing speculations that Ifeanyi Ubah’s political associates, including Hon. Kamen Chuks, are secretly supporting Governor Charles Soludo, Obigwe urged for patience. He insisted that if such a decision is made, it will be announced publicly, free from secrecy or speculation.
With this clarification, the Ifeanyi Ubah political family has effectively distanced itself from the endorsements made by the Ikemba Front, signaling that they remain undecided on their preferred candidate for the November 8 gubernatorial election.
