
The Chairman of the 10th House of Representatives Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, has assured Nigerians of a people-oriented constitution upon the completion of the review process.
Speaking at the conclusion of a two-day retreat for committee members in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Kalu, who is also the Deputy Speaker of the House, commended the members for their dedication and urged them to stay committed.
Kalu praised their teamwork and determination, emphasizing that their efforts are driven by the desire to create a better Nigeria that reflects the people’s aspirations. He encouraged members to remain resilient despite challenges, noting their role in shaping the nation’s future.
Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon Akin Rotimi Jnr, reiterated the commitment to an inclusive, transparent, and reflective process. He highlighted the complexity of the constitutional review and assured Nigerians of meaningful reforms under Kalu’s leadership, aimed at strengthening democracy and fostering national development.
