On the morning of February 21, 2025, at Nowas, Trans Ekulu, Enugu, a young man was h@rassed by members of the police force while on his way to a burial. Despite having a burial poster displayed on his Benz, officers subjected him to an aggr£ssive stop-and-search.
According to an eyewitness, the situation escalated when the officers allegedly fired multiple shots into the air and at the young man’s car. They then attempted to arrest him, but a crowd intervened, preventing the officers from taking him away.
As tensions intensified, some of the officers fled the scene, seemingly aware of the illegitimacy of their actions. However, one officer was left behind, and the crowd, fueled by frustration, demanded his means of identification.
