Ondo Students Demand Increased Bursary, Scholarships, Transport Support, and Inclusion in Governance

Sen. Hammed Oyelade, the National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) Global President, students of Ondo State origin have urged Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami, MNI, to prioritize their welfare by expanding bursary and scholarship programs, addressing transportation challenges, and ensuring the inclusion of past student leaders in governance.

In an open letter to the newly inaugurated leaders, the students called for the approval of the 2025 bursary and scholarship program, with an increase in beneficiaries from 10,000 to 20,000. They also proposed a merit-based scholarship for the top 10 best-performing Ondo State indigenes in tertiary institutions nationwide.

Additionally, they requested an update on the 13 buses that were partially paid for by the previous administration, emphasizing the need to facilitate their delivery to ease transportation challenges for students. The letter further advocated for the inclusion of past qualified student leaders in governance, highlighting their experience and contributions to student welfare.

The students, through their leadership, expressed confidence that addressing these demands would strengthen the administration’s commitment to education and youth empowerment while fostering socio-economic growth in Ondo State.
