Popular podcaster and entertainer Temisan Emmanuel recently opened up about his journey, challenges, and aspirations in an insightful interview.
Raised by his grandmother in Warri after his parents’ separation, Emmanuel shared how his upbringing shaped him. “I grew up in a loving home, but I always felt like I had to prove myself,” he said, reflecting on his early struggles with self-esteem.
Discussing his education, he revealed his transition from studying Law to History and Strategic Studies at the University of Lagos. “I realized law wasn’t for me. I was more inclined towards storytelling and history, so I followed my passion.”
Emmanuel also spoke about the inspiration behind his podcast, Tea with Tay. “I wanted to create a space where people could be real, where they could share their stories without fear of judgment,” he explained. He further noted his plans to expand the platform, saying, “We’re working towards a live event. I want to connect with the audience beyond the digital space.”
Addressing the challenges of the entertainment industry, he emphasized the importance of self-worth. “You must know who you are, set boundaries, and not let the industry consume you,” he advised.
On personal growth, Emmanuel highlighted his commitment to mental health and self-care. “I take breaks from social media, I travel, and I pray. That’s how I stay grounded,” he shared. When asked about marriage, he responded, “Marriage is not a priority for me right now. I’m focused on myself and my happiness.”
With a growing presence in acting, comedy, and hosting, Emmanuel remains committed to his craft. “I’m just getting started. There’s so much more I want to do,” he concluded.
