The member representing Anambra East and West Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Peter Udeogalanya Aniekwe, has awarded scholarships to over 50 Students from Selected 23 Senior Secondary schools in the Federal constituency and Otuocha Education Zone in his Phase One of educational Empowerment programme and also distributed computers, school bags worth Millions of naira through an empowerment programme targeted at his constituents in the Anambra East and West Federal Constituency.
Flagging off the scheme at Ovuakwu Primary School Otuocha Umueri, Hon. Peter Udeogalanya Aniekwe (Macpee) emphasised the importance of education to the advancement of any society.
On the issue of scholarship, According to Macpee, he decided to take over the payment of the WAEC fees of the selected students to alleviate their plight and ensure that they achieve their academic pursuits in life.
The event, held amidst celebrations, joy and happiness, saw beneficiaries receiving a wide range of items, including, computers School bags and In addition, Scholarships were given to over 50 Students drawn from Senior Secondary Schools in Anambra East and West Local Government Areas to support their education.
At the event, Hon Peter Aniekwe (Macpee) expressed his commitment to improving the economic and social welfare of his constituents.
He described the initiative as a gesture of gratitude for their overwhelming support for him and to support and improve learning in Anambra East and West Federal Constituency.
“This empowerment programme is aimed at boosting economic activities, improving livelihoods, and enhancing the well-being of our people. It is also a token of my appreciation for your unwavering support during the elections,” he stated.
He assured them that the scholarship would be sustained to ensure that more students benefit from it in the second phase, and charged the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously and avoid social vices that may be detrimental to their future.
Hon Peter Aniekwe also assured the good people of Anambra East and West of his readiness to sustain the attraction of people-oriented programmes and projects such as education, healthcare and empowerment to the constituency and thanked them for the confidence reposed in him to represent them at the Federal House.
The Deputy Chairman, Anambra State Post Primary School, Awka, Prof Nkiru Sam Emmanuel appreciated The good gestures of Hon Peter Aniekwe and Promised that the Schools will use the Laptops to facilitate smart Learning in Schools and also advised beneficiaries of the Scholarship (Students) to maximise the opportunity for their own good, noting that many may not have such privilege.
All the beneficiaries of the Scholarship and Computer Sets expressed their joys and appreciations to the lawmaker for coming to their aid with the Scholarship offer and donation of Educational items which will enhance learning in their various schools.
