Idanre, Ondo State – Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Idanre Local Government have called on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to consider relocating the state polytechnic to Idanre following the recent upgrade of the state-owned polytechnic in Owo to a university.

The stakeholders made the appeal during the Idanre APC stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in the town. They also urged the governor to prioritize the dualization of the Akure-Idanre road and the extension of township roads in Idanre, emphasizing that these projects would enhance connectivity and boost the economic growth of the area.

During the meeting, the stakeholders congratulated Governor Aiyedatiwa on his inauguration for a new four-year term, expressing their confidence in his ability to deliver impactful governance. They also passed a resounding vote of confidence in the leadership of Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye and endorsed him to continue leading the “Odatiwa Odirorun” platform in Idanre Local Government.

Furthermore, the stakeholders commended Adefisoye and members of the Idanre Campaign Council for securing victory for Governor Aiyedatiwa in the local government during the November 2024 gubernatorial election. They, however, appealed to the governor to consider Idanre for strategic appointments in his administration, noting that previous state administrations had overlooked the town in key government appointments.

In addition, the stakeholders extended their felicitations to the newly sworn-in executive chairman and councillors of Idanre Local Government, expressing confidence in their ability to deliver good governance at the grassroots level. They also appreciated Chief Pius Akinyelure for his continued support towards the development of Idanre, particularly his contributions to the ongoing road project in the town, which has significantly improved local infrastructure.

As part of its resolutions, the body announced the establishment of an Advisory Council to develop a framework for the forthcoming party congress. It stressed the need for a seamless and transparent process in the conduct of party affairs.

The stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to the progress of the APC in Idanre and pledged their support for the party’s leadership at all levels.
