Ramadan: Kano State Government Rolls Out Food Assistance Programme.

A statement issued on Monday by the State Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, said the programme would feed 91,000 people for 27 days.

He explained that the annual programme was designed to support vulnerable Muslim residents in the state by providing them with daily iftar meals during the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking at the flag-off of the occasion, Kano State Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, expressed satisfaction with the smooth takeoff of the programme.

Aminu, who doubles as the Chairman of the 2025 Ramadan Feeding Programme in the state, further urged the catering companies involved in the programme to ensure timely and efficient delivery of meals to all feeding centres to achieve the programme’s objective.

The Deputy Governor was accompanied to the occasion by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya; Hon. Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Tijjani Auwal; the Permanent Secretary, Deputy Governor’s Office; and other top government officials.
