The House of Representatives has called for the urgent revitalization of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) Nigerian Pipeline Storage Company Depot in Ore, Ondo State, citing its critical role in the country’s petroleum distribution network.

In a motion presented during plenary on Tuesday, the House noted that the depot serves as a major storage and distribution hub for petroleum products across the Southwest, as well as parts of Kogi and Kwara States.

Lawmakers expressed concern that the facility’s current state of disrepair has contributed to supply inefficiencies, disruptions, and economic setbacks in the region.

They argued that revamping the depot would enhance energy security, improve supply chain operations, and create employment opportunities for local residents.

The motion was adopted and referred to the relevant committees for further legislative action, as the House reaffirmed its commitment to improving Nigeria’s energy infrastructure.

This facility plays a crucial role in the storage and distribution of petroleum products across the southwest region, Kogi, Kwara states and its current state of disrepair has led to inefficiencies, supply disruptions, and economic setbacks.

Revitalizing the depot will enhance energy security, improve supply chain efficiency, and create employment opportunities for the local population.
