Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the 2023 PDP governorship candidate in Lagos, met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday.

The private meeting, which reportedly lasted from 2 PM to 4 PM, has fueled speculation about Jandor’s next political move, with sources suggesting a possible return to the APC or an alliance ahead of the 2027 elections.

Confirming the meeting, Jandor’s spokesman, Gbenga Ogunleye, stated that nothing has been finalized yet but noted that Jandor is currently consulting with political leaders.

“Yes, Jandor met with Tinubu. It was a private meeting. His next move will be announced at the appropriate time. He will meet with his support group in Lagos this weekend before making a decision.”

Jandor has also recently met with former Heads of State, Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, as well as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and leaders of the SDP, hinting at various political options.

In his resignation letter from PDP, Jandor criticized the party’s leadership, stating that the PDP had failed to uphold its principles. He also hinted at aligning with another party:

“We will consult widely and then decide which platform to collapse our structure into. The major thing now is that we have left the PDP.
